2006 Mini Cooper R52S squeaking from upper strut mounts

Trying to diagnose a creaking from the upper strut mounts on our 2006 Mini Cooper S convertible. The struts and strut bearings (upper strut mounts) were replaced about 7k miles ago, so it's annoying to hear this creaking start already.
