Terrifying Car Crash Caught on Tesla Camera | TeslaCam Live

While traveling on a rural highway I was involved in a major and terrifying car accident. I was traveling close to 60 MPH when a commercial pickup veered into oncoming traffic and struck another commercial truck with a trailer in front of me. It ripped through the side of it and continued on in the wrong lane for another 50-100ft.

At the point of impact, the force was so great that all of the tools in the trailer, including a one and a half ton press were propelled into the air along with the trailer that dislodged from the hitch. Unfortunately, the press went directly into the engine of the driver that veered into oncoming traffic ultimately trapping him in the car, and doing significant bodily harm to him. The trailer fell inches from my car’s eventual stopping point.

However, at the moment of the accident, my Tesla alerted me to the danger ahead and even assisted me to veer off the road. It also recorded everything from multiple angles and showed the Sheriff exactly what happened. The cars technology and my reaction time likely saved me from serious harm or death. I was lucky I steered to the shoulder and not to the other lane.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but it looks like distracted driving. The only person with serious injuries was the person who veered into oncoming traffic. He was in serious condition as of last night. Please pray for him to recover. The person in the truck in front of me was able to crawl out of the car after cutting his seatbelt with a pocket knife.
The Tesla has a cracked, headlight, shattered windshield and paint damage to the hood.
