Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is located in the western United States, primarily in Wyoming, and extends into Montana and Idaho. It was established on March 1, 1872, making it the first national park in the U.S. and widely considered the first national park in the world. The park is known for its unique hydrothermal and geologic features, wildlife, and geysers, including the famous Old Faithful. It spans an area of 3,472 square miles and is part of the larger Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, which is one of the largest nearly intact ecosystems in the northern temperate zone.
