Yu Yu Hakusho Episode 1 Explained

The story starts with the death of Urameshi Yusuke, His childhood friend, Keiko, rushes to the scene and Yusuke’s spirit realizes that he had already died.
A flashback from four hours before the incident shows a roundworm monster escaping from the underworld. Keiko finds Yusuke smoking on the rooftop and asks him to stop doing that.
The teacher catches Yusuke beating the school bullies up as he tries to save the victim. He blames Yusuke for bullying the students, but Yusuke ignored him, and goes back home.
Yusuke is berated by his mother at home as well and he leaves to go out to get some air.
On the street, his arch-rival Kuwabara meets him and start fighting Yusuke. An already irritated Yusuke beats Kuwabara to a pulp leaving him further agitated.
Yusuke then arrives at the ramen shop where Keiko works. Yusuke eats ramen when Keiko arrives from school. She argues with Yusuke for not defending himself in front of the teacher and asks him to die out of frustration.
Meanwhile, the roundworm monster possesses a truck driver and forces him to drive onto the road that Yusuke is on. Yusuke leaves the restaurant after his fight with Keiko and notices that the truck driver is about to crash into a little boy. He pushes the boy away and ends up getting run over by the truck.
The narrator states that the human and the demon world were connected in the past where the yokai attacked humans who came to the human world. After the spirit world drew a boundary, separating the two worlds.
Yusuke’s spirit notices his body being taken away in an ambulance when Botan (the Grim Reaper) shows up. She tells Yusuke that he was an evil person by the standards of the book which means he could be sent to hell. However, Botan tells him that his death was not anticipated because his act of saving the young boy was odd for his personality.
Botan takes Yusuke to the Spirit World to meet her boss, Koenma. Koenma tells Yusuke that he will be reincarnated if he agrees to be a Spirit Detective for the Spirit world.
His duties as a Spirit Detective would be to stop the Yokai that are invading the human world. Yusuke doesn’t have any interest in it, so he refuses the offer.
Meanwhile, Sakyo is the owner of several casinos. He meets a guest there, Mr. Gonzo Tarukane, and asks what you are doing with the deep pit you bought from me. Sakyo tells Mr. Gonzo that the pit is a gateway to the demon world.
Meanwhile, Yusuke is given a chance to return to the human world to see how his friends and family react to his death.
Yusuke sees his mother and the boy he saved from death.
Outside his house he sees Kirino, the kid he saved from school bullies. He came to pay respect but was stopped by the bullies. Kuwabara came to the incident and saved him. He curses Yusuke that he left the world before their rematch.
At night we saw the bullies beating the Kirino. The roundworm monster sees the opportunity and possesses Kirino’s body. He screeched so loudly that half the town could hear his voice. He started beating the bullies, so they ran away. During this mess there was a blast, so a fire started spreading.
Kuwabara was nearby so he rushed to the scene.
In the meantime, Koenma informs Yusuke that his house is on fire. Yusuke who is already in the human world immediately rushes to his home and sees his friend Keiko trying to save his body. Frustrated by his inability to communicate, Yusuke watches helplessly as Keiko faints. Suddenly the roof teeters. Using his spirit energy, Yusuke stops the collapsing roof. In this pivotal moment, he strikes a deal with Koenma, agreeing to become a spirit detective. Yusuke quickly takes Keiko to safety, leaving her in his mother's care.
On the way Koenma guides Yusuke that the roundworm only possesses people who have negative emotions.
Kuwabara and his friends confront the boy possessed by a roundworm monster but endure a brutal defeat.
The monster was about to hit Kuwabara when suddenly Yusuke kicked him away.
Koenma told Yusuke that if you don’t get the roundworm out of the boy, he will turn into a Yokai.
Yusuke struggles to fight him as he is too strong. Koenma advises him to focus all your spirit energy into one part of your body to create a spirit bomb only with that you can defeat the Yokai.
During the fight Kirino’s hand changed into a blade and he became more aggressive.
Yusuke somehow manages to push him to the wall with a bicycle and tells him to wake up. How can you let a bug insect control over you.
After listening to Yusuke, Kirino’s hand changed back to normal, and he called Yusuke for help.
Yusuke then throws him to the ground and creates spirit energy around his fist. He smacked Kirino’s face and the bug fell out from his mouth. Yusuke picks it up and squeezes it with his hand.
He picks Kirino on his back and tells Kuwabara to check if his friends are okay. Then he returns home.
Koenma told Botan that he had to fight a lot worse monsters than this one and in his current condition he is too weak to fight them.
In the meantime, we see a lot of monsters killing humans. Suddenly a swordsman appears on the scene and started killing them. Then a red hair guy jumps in and kill monsters with a whip. After that a red beast appears. All 3 of them steal a piece of magical instrument from the monsters. That’s where the 1st episode ends. #dramacaliber #drama
