This is the natural predecessor to chloroquine. See the history here https://rumble.com/v4dvnpr-history-of-quinine-chloroquine-and-gin-and-tonic.html

The reason chloroquine was produced was for mass production. It's a quinoline too, basically a harsher version of this that has side effects, which is why they made hydroxychloroquine. Don't let anyone tell you that this doesn't work or that HCQ does anything it doesn't.

She says to cook it 4 hours TWICE in the video, then says you can just do once in the comments. If you cook it too long you might cook out the contents but I can't find a reliable guide for this. If you know one, post it below. I've read the peels should be translucent afterward, which they're not after 4h and that made me question cutting the recommended second 4h.

I've cooked it in the Instantpot pressure cooker for 42 minutes then 42 in the slow cooker. You can't do this one-two because the slowcooker won't turn on until the pressure drops way down and it takes a lonnnng time. In the Instant pot you have to wait overnight +++ (MORE than just overnight) to open or you'll lose some steam and some quinine in it. I've opened it early and it still seems to work but you want max potency so let it cool all the way before you crack the lid.
