AWARDS Ceremony - 2023 New Zealand Speedgolf Open - Jamie 5x and Liz 8x Champions

⛳️ 66 Speedgolfers line up for their 2nd round of the 9th annual New Zealand Speedgolf Open! The battles at the top of the leaderboard did not disappoint with mere Seconds separating 2nd - 4th and 5th - 8th!

It's Wild to see golfers within a single stroke of each other after 36 holes and over an hour of run time. Jamie Reid and Liz Mckinnon cemented their legacies as New Zealand's best and baddest running away from the field capturing their 5th and 8th titles!

🏅Liz Mckinnon takes Gold home for the Ladies, 8x Champion!

⛳️ Jamie Reid puts together another spectacular round of 70 (+2) in just 32 minutes to capture his 5th New Zealand Speedgolf Championship!

⛳️ Robin Smith finishes with the Silver Medal with the 2nd best speedgolf round of the tournament. He shot a 70 (+2) in 35.20 totaling 105.20 to just edge out Brad and Sam by less than 1 stroke, 36 and 49 seconds to be precise.

⛳️ Another Taranaki Local, Sam Jones, shot the low Golf score of the day and tournament of 65 (-3) in 41 minutes. Only 3 rounds out of 132 were under par, Sam had two and Ethan Jones had the other! (Both shot 67 in round 1)

🔥 Sam Jones would continue his hot streak of golf and a few months later he played a 6 round play in tournament sniping his way onto the DP World Tour! Amateur status no more! A Professional playing with the Big Boys! Congratulations my friend!

⛳️ Rob Hogan, 2x Speedgolf World Champion and Communications Expert, shot 76 again and it only took him 32 minutes and 36 seconds!
Logic would suggest Rob was the speediest golfer, but Shannon Stallard went 25 seconds faster and get this, 20 more swings!

Our Wild Irishman, Rob Hogan, finished in 5th place overall!

⛳️ Luke Willett - British SG Champ and Guinness World Record Holder!
Luke started the round in 15th place, chasing me down actually, and with one of the best bounce back rounds of the weekend he shot a 72 in 39.10 to jump up to 10th. Top 10 in one hell of a stacked field of crazy kiwis!

⛳️ Scott Dawley, a true legend and pioneer of the sport, Shoots a 74 in 42 minutes and 40 seconds! It was a tough weekend of golf at the office but he was able to still finish in 11th place overall!
