20240215 Day 676 Part-2

Today’s my favorite day of the training week, PULLING!! Which means it’s time to switch factions to ORK!! I’m gettin’ stuck in!!

I intended on starting with chest-supported rows but this gym doesn’t have those and I defaulted to my beloved Hammer Strength ISO-Row AKA “Gork’s Grip!”

Feeling extra “Orky” today, I took 4x plates for sets of 10+ for the second time at a lighter bodyweight. When you’re the size of a Grot, you gotta pull like a Boss.

Next, I did wide-grip pulldowns. Everything at this point is lighter with the intent to keep the load in the muscle (Lats specifically) and not to “train on the nerve” like on the rows. I stayed in the 10-ish range on these.

Normally after rowing that heavy I’d be done but I know I won’t lift tomorrow so I used the last of my reserves to play with some machine pull-down lengthened partials with an emphasis on the stretch portion of the lift. I’m still getting a great pump here but definitely feeling some fatigue after 30k of bike, toes to bar, rowing my @$$ off and pulldowns all fasted before breakfast. Still in the 10-ish rep range but lighter still than on the cables as this is atypical and I want the volume to be safe and productive.
