Tropical Singapore Here We Come! Day 1 - Marina Bay & Gardens by the Bay

Yes we are off to tropical Singapore for a 10 night stay to avoid the late autumn Melbourne chill.

We leave home and travel to Singapore and head through Changi Airport. We check in to the Swissotel The Stamford and have a bite to eat then crash for a restful sleep.

I'll be posting a review of the Swissotel and the Qantas flights to and from Singapore in coming weeks.

After breakfast we walk out towards Marina bay, check out the Helix Bridge and make our way to the Marina Bay Sands Shoppes. We check out all the designer shops, fabulous food court and the Sampans in the indoor canal.

We then walk through Gardens By the Bay to the Cloud Forest. What a spectacular attraction this is. A high indoor waterfall, magical foliage and high walkways offering great views of the structure and wider views to Singapore and its bays. We also visit the Avatar Experience and the Cloud Forrest Theatre, a fantastic light and sound show.

Golden rice and Ice cold beers are consumed at the Majestic Restaurant for lunch.

We then continue our day at the Flower Dome. Spectacular flowers and we are fortunate to visit during the Tulip Exhibition. I've never seen so many vibrant tulips in my life!

The Cloud Forest and Flower Dome cost SGD $53 per person - money well spend for two world class attractions.

We walk back to Marina Bay Sands in the extreme heat and head back to our hotel via the excellent MRT system.

We will return to check out The hotel at Marina Bay Sands and the Skytrees at the Gardens by the Bay on a later date.
