This week, U.S. forces conducted a defensive strike, targeting a “mobile anti-ship cruise missile” in Yemen that was poised to launch against ships in the Red Sea, according to U.S. Central Command.

The strike, carried out around 2:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, targeted the missile located in areas of Yemen controlled by the Iranian-backed Houthi group.

Approximately seven hours later, CENTCOM reported that a solitary anti-ship ballistic missile was launched from the same regions of Yemen, directed towards the Gulf of Aden.

“U.S. Navy ships tracked the missile but took no action because the missile was not projected to impact near any ships. There were no reports of injuries or damage from ships in the area.,” CENTCOM wrote in a post on X, Fox News reported.
