U.S. Probes IDF Strikes That Killed Civilians in Gaza, Use of Phosphorus in Lebanon

The State Department is conducting this probe to ascertain whether Israel, a close ally of the U.S., has improperly utilized its bombs and missiles, resulting in civilian casualties.

The Biden administration is facing a challenging situation, as it has refrained from imposing conditions on arms transfers to pressure Israel, despite growing calls from some members of Congress to do so as the conflict continues.

President Biden’s unwavering support for Israel during its military campaign in Gaza has generated criticism from progressive voters who are troubled by the high number of Palestinian civilian casualties.

However, any shift in this support could lead to accusations of abandonment in Israel’s time of need, the Wall Street Journal reported.
