NBC News: ‘Very Reputable Law Enforcement Source’ Confirms One Dead, Nine Injured in Chiefs Parade Shooting

KNUTE: “And speaking of sources, Kevin, you spoke with the source, who did tell us, gave us some more clarification that, as of right now, and this is coming from a reputable source, that one dead, nine injured. One person dead, nine injured, that’s coming from a very reputable law enforcement source.”

HOLMES: “Yeah. And we’re still trying to find more. This is, of course, a fluid situation, so there are several moving parts of this. That number could go up in terms of injuries. We certainly hope and pray it doesn’t, but still a lot of activity here, lot of police cars. And from where we’re standing, we’re actually kind of within a crime scene, there’s crime scene tape that surrounds every place we are here at Union Station, as police secured the perimeter and tried to figure out what’s happening, what’s now an active crime scene. And I don’t think we can stress it enough how you can see people’s personal belongings still on the lawn here at Union Station.”

KNUTE: “I told Kevin, we’ve got a baby stroller right there, and then I looked over the side and there are some children’s chairs right there. You heard our reporters talking about the families who are now on the perimeter of this, but scared kids, I can’t even imagine.”
