Author and social activist Gloria Jean Watkins, is better known by her pen name Bell hooks [sic]. She wrote over 22 books and here explains how negative stereotypes of Blacks can be perpetuated. Even if a Black person shatters a prejudicial trope, often they’ll be viewed as the exception to the rule. While slamming White supremacist attitudes, she also laments Blacks who consider themselves inferior. It’s a thought provoking interview, even if it is a few years old. Tell us if you think it’s still relevant.
