Milei Praises Pope in Reversal After Vatican Meeting

Javier Milei, who once labeled Pope Francis as “the devil’s man on Earth,” has made a significant turnaround.

Following an encounter at the Vatican, Milei now praises the pontiff as “the most important” Argentine.

In a television interview set to be broadcast Monday evening, Milei acknowledges the necessity of changing his stance.

“One of the things I have realized recently is that the Pope is the most important Argentine person in the whole of Argentina, he’s the leader of Catholics in the world,” Milei told Italian TV channel Retequattro in remarks released before the program.

“As a result, I had to reconsider some positions and, from that moment, we began to build a positive bond,” Milei said.

Throughout the election, the world’s two most influential Argentines engaged in a war of words, culminating in Javier Milei’s resounding victory in November, Bloomberg reported.
