Soccer player struck by lightning, killed during game

A 35-year-old soccer player met a tragic end when he was struck by lightning and fatally injured during a match in Indonesia.

The shocking incident occurred during a friendly game between his team, Football Boots Indonesia, and FC Bandung on Saturday.

Septain Raharja collapsed on the field around 4:20 p.m., and distressing footage of the incident has circulated online.

Fellow players swiftly came to Raharja’s aid, but despite being still breathing when rushed to a local hospital, he was later pronounced dead, the New York Post reported.
