186 American soldiers injured or killed in attacks since October

Since mid-October, approximately 186 troops have suffered injuries or fatalities in assaults targeting U.S. personnel in the Middle East.

Among them, 130 individuals have experienced traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), as verified by the Pentagon on Monday.

Notably, TBIs caused by the explosive effects of missiles, mortars, and drones constitute 70% of the overall casualties.

This figure encompasses three soldiers who lost their lives in the attack on Tower 22 in Jordan on January 28.

“We do expect that number to continue to fluctuate as our service members … with TBI report symptoms later on,” Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon spokeswoman, told reporters during a Jan. 29 briefing. “So, that number could continue to grow.”

The count of troops injured in attacks by Iran-backed militias saw a significant increase following the Tower 22 incident, as per data furnished by the Defense Department, the Military Times has reported.
