Kangaroo breaks into Florida pool

February 8 was just a normal day in Tampa, Florida, which meant someone's pet kangaroo (because that's apparently a thing) decided to go out exploring, and ended up hopping around the pool in a nearby apartment complex.

A resident spotted the kangaroo, and quickly deduced that he probably didn't own an apartment or have a permit to use the pool. Audio from the subsequent call to the emergency services was later released -

'911, do you need police, fire or medical?'

'I guess police, because there's a kangaroo in my apartment complex.'

The kangaroo, the imaginatively-named 'Hopper', was caught when police closed the gate leading into the complex. Obviously Hopper could have just jumped over the gate, but he was polite and chose not to. He was eventually reunited with his owner, and all the Floridians went to bed, pleased that nothing unusual had happened that day.
