Prophets have a particular responsibility and office within the church, and is not an ordinarily believer or teacher, but was a very specific person within a local congregation in the EARLY church, while the Apostles were on mission planting churches. Prophets were given a direct revelation from the Lord to the church and which were confirmed by other prophets under the teachings of the apostles. In the modern church, prophets have been replaced with evangelists and teaching pastors.
