Ann Arbor for Public Power is releasing a proposal on how a city-owned

The group is made up of residents and organizations that want to move away from other power companies like DTE Energy. The proposal calls for the creation of a Ann Arbor Municipal Electric Board consisting of nine members, that would create, maintain and administer a public power utility. The board would create a budget, suggest energy rates and manage the utility while submitting some matters to city council for approval.
