Could Humans Survive The Same Dinosaur-Killing Asteroid?

Have you ever thought about what would happen if an asteroid hit our planet? What exactly are asteroids? Would we even be able to survive an impact, and is NASA doing anything about them?
Asteroids are rocky celestial bodies that orbit the Sun and are significantly smaller than planets. They are remnants from the early formation of our solar system, composed primarily of rock and metals. Most asteroids are found in the asteroid belt, a region located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, However, they can also be found throughout the solar system.
