I’m Papa Penguin and this is your Military Minute.

From the Hall of Montezuma to the shores of Davo, Philippines the Marines come to the rescue. Leathernecks from VMGR-152 have delivered thousands of pounds of needed supplies to flood victims in the PI.

See, the Marines do more than just kill people and break things.

The 26th MEU has been extended on station, likely because of the mid east nuttiness. Having a mes float extended isn’t fun. On the plus side I did lose 130 lbs in the form of an ex wife during one, so they have that going for them.

And speaking of unexpected life trajectories while afloat, the commodore for destroyer squadron 2 was cashiered over the weekend. While the Navy says it was for “loss of confidence” I’d be willing to bet it's one of 2 things:
Alcohol
Infidelity

This is the 3rd CO the Navy has fired this year.

And that’s your military minute.
