A Avenida Infante Dom Henrique, em Ponta Delgada, acolhe a tradicional Batalha das Limas, a 13 de fevereiro de 2024, a partir das 14h30.
Este ano, 9 equipas e 10 camiões, constituídas por pequenos e graúdos, estão responsáveis por manter viva esta tradição micaelense.
As equipas que vão entrar nesta batalha de água são os “Cães de Fila de São Miguel” de Santo António, os “Badboys” de São Roque, os “Sempre Presentes” de São José, os “Santa Canalha” de Santa Clara, os “Bairro da Lata” do Rosário da Lagoa, os “Fúria Azul” do Livramento, os “Bombásticos” da Associação de Bombeiros Voluntários de Ponta Delgada, os "Guerreiros dos Arrifes"e os "Mercenários" do Pico das Canas.
O Clube Naval de Ponta Delgada também vai colaborar nesta batalha, com duas motas de água a circular entre as Portas da Cidade e a Marina para monitorizar o espaço e recolher eventuais resíduos, que possam cair ao mar.
No final desta iniciativa, não há perdedores e a equipa de Limpeza da Câmara Municipal de Ponta Delgada, juntamente com todos os participantes, entram em ação e colocam a cidade sem vestígios deste evento.

The Street Infante Dom Henrique in Ponta Delgada will host the traditional Battle of the Limes on February 13, 2024, starting at 02:30 pm.
This year, 9 teams and 10 trucks, made up of young and old, are responsible for keeping this tradition alive.
The teams taking part in this water battle are the "Cães de Fila de São Miguel" from Santo António, the "Badboys" from São Roque, the "Sempre Presentes" from São José, the "Santa Canalha" from Santa Clara, the "Bairro da Lata" from Rosário da Lagoa, the "Fúria Azul" from Livramento, the "Bombásticos" from the Ponta Delgada Volunteer Firefighters Association, the "Guerreiros dos Arrifes" and the "Mercenários" from Pico das Canas.
The Clube Naval de Ponta Delgada will also be taking part in this battle, with two watercraft circulating between Portas da Cidade and the Marina to monitor the area and collect any waste that might fall overboard.
At the end of this initiative, there are no losers and the Ponta Delgada City Council Cleaning team, together with all the participants, will take action and leave the city without a trace of this event.
