Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin underwent general anesthesia on Monday for a non-surgical procedure addressing an “emergent bladder issue,” according to a statement from his doctors.

They assured that he is expected to resume normal duties on Tuesday, and a prolonged hospital stay is not anticipated.

This hospitalization, initiated on Sunday, marks his third since being diagnosed with prostate cancer in December.

Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, in a press briefing on Monday, could not specify the type of medical procedure Austin underwent, ABC News reported.
