(It’s Bad to Beat your Own Ass) / (The Mad Prophet and His Dumb Ass)

Text: Numbers 22
Objective: that the brethren may avoid foolish errors which hurt others
Intro:
Define – sin, beat, own, mad, dumb, ass

Balaam is a Fool because:
1. He is Known by the Enemies of the Lord’s People –v.5 – ‘he send… unto’ him
2. He Talks and Entertains the Enemies of the Lord’s People –vv.8, 19
a. ‘tarry’, lodge. V.36 – meet, v.39 “went with Balak”
b. went with the princes of Moab – v.21
3. He Disregards the Word of the Lord –
a. V. 12 – “do not go with them”
4. He Doesn’t Know that God is angry with him – v.22
5. His Ass is Better than Him – v.34
a. In seeing the Lord’s servant – v.24
b. In seeing impending Danger – v.23
6. God have to use a miracle to Stop him – vv.23-31
7. He Asks the Question to which He should already know the answer– v.34
8. He Lets the Enemy of the Lord’s People to take him – v.41

Message/conclusion:

Let us avoid foolish errors, consider that this will hurt others!
