Matt K. Lewis: Hur’s Report ‘Does Reinforce’ the Presumption that ‘Joe Biden Has Lost a Step’

CAPEHART: “So Matt, given all of that, why on earth is the Biden campaign struggling on this issue with this guy?”
LEWIS: “Well look, I do think there is a difference. I think that Donald Trump, if he were just a normal person who is not in the MAGA Kool-Aid drinking world, Donald Trump presents as crazy and chaotic, and he has authoritarian tendencies. And yes, he says weird things sometimes. But I think he also comes across as energetic, and quick-witted on occasion, and funny. And I think Joe Biden isn’t just a different animal, right? Joe Biden comes across as a nice guy, but a guy who is ready to head off to shady acres retirement. So, I don’t want to dismiss the problem that Democrats have. I think Democrats have a very serious, legitimate problem. And I think the reason that that special counsel’s report is actually so damaging, is that it actually does reinforce a presumption that a lot of Americans have, that Joe Biden has lost a step. We know Donald Trump is chaotic and dangerous. But it bothers me a little bit that Democrats, I think the best argument is, the best argument I’ve heard here, is that Joe Biden’s gotten good stuff done, that judges by the record. But I think going after the deep state embedded within the Joe Biden Department of Justice, is not a great move, and it doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, at least in me.”
