One person was killed Wednesday in an officer-involved shooting in Greenville County.
According to a video posted by Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis, deputies were called to Pequot Drive for a domestic violence call. At the scene, Lewis said deputies encountered a man who was armed.
Deputies reportedly told him to drop the weapon, and the shooting then occurred.
According to the sheriff’s office, preliminary reports indicate four deputies fired their weapons and all four have been placed on paid administrative leave as standard with protocol.
Lewis confirmed the suspect is dead and added no deputies were harmed.
“The deputies are okay, no one else is injured, the suspect was pronounced deceased on scene,” Lewis said in the video.
