According to unelected technocrat and EU Commissioner for Climate Action, Wopke Hoekstra, the EU should aim for a 90% cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
"Based on the best available science, and a detailed impact assessment... we are recommending that the 2040 target should be a 90% cut in emissions."
