Young chain saw artist is giving back

Artist Jimmy Keller's tools of the trade are chain saws. He has six of them which he handles like a real pro, transforming ordinary chunks of wood into anything he can imagine. Jimmy got interested in chainsaw sculpting about a year ago and admits that there was a bit of a learning curve saying "you have to understand kickback and understand how the saw works." The artist had some help from the guys at Arthur's Hardware Store in Orchard Park where he bought his first chainsaw. He's racked up an impressive portfolio of pieces, estimating he's carved seventy-five sculptures so far. All of this is pretty amazing considering that Jimmy is only fifteen years old. What really makes his work special is that he works with non-profit groups, donating his sculptures. He just did a sculpture at Winter Fest, with the piece being auctioned of and the proceeds going to the Chestnut Ridge Conservancy. You can contact Jimmy Keller and view his work through his website.
