Far too many Survivors of perpetrators and oppressors have been told they are responsible for forgiving the perpetrator, no matter what. Thus, they must endure insult on top of their injury, all because of an extremely erroneous understanding of what the Scriptures teach about forgiveness. The reality is that nothing could be further from the truth, and further from what God has promised those harmed by perpetrators and oppressors. God's heart is for Survivors of evil and oppression, and He has clearly preserved what are called imprecatory prayers, for the expressed purpose of helping to strengthen, encourage, and heal those who've been harmed by predators and oppressors.

In this episode (# 24) of the ongoing extended series on 'Forgiveness: What it is vs. what it is NOT,' Jon K. Uhler, LPC, host of the weekly live counseling program, 'Journey to Healing,' helps explain what imprecatory prayers are, and why they are such a key part of helping a Survivor to heal from abuse and oppression. The important truths revealed in this episode will help clarify for the Survivor what God's heart is truly like for the Survivor, and how much He cares about the pain they've suffered.
