Does The BMW R1300GS Really Produce More Engine Noise Than The 1250GS?

BMW changed 2 things with the engine in the new 1300GS, moved the transmission forward and under the engine and made the engine walls thinner to save on weight. But did this change make the noise getting to the rider more noticeable and can we measure this noise?
