First, let's understand what hanging is. Hanging involves gripping a bar overhead and letting your body hang freely. It's as simple as finding a secure bar, like those in gyms, parks, or even a sturdy tree branch, and using your hands to grip it. Then, you let your body hang, keeping your feet off the ground.
To start, grip the bar with your hands shoulder-width apart. Ensure your grip is firm. Then, gently lift your feet off the ground, allowing your body to hang. Keep your arms and legs relaxed. Aim to hang for about a minute, but it's okay to start with shorter periods and gradually increase as you get more comfortable.
