From page 19: Re producing more spike protein ('improve antigen expression') :

"The V9 variant was selected as the clinical candidate. V8 and V9 have identical amino acid sequences of the encoded antigens and differ only in their codon optimisation sequences, which were designed to improve antigen expression (V9)"

From pages 17 and 18: Re enabling it to better enter cells:

"ALC-0315 has been optimised for RNA encapsulation and intracellular delivery."

(ALC-0315 is one of the lipids that make up the nanoparticles).
