Watch Your Motives

In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 6, Jesus Christ teaches that your motives are paramount. God looks at the heart of His people. If they are doing good deeds for the praise of men or praying to look good and receive the praise of others, God does not reward the religious work.
All religious activities are viewed through the lens of our actions and activities being for God and Him alone. If you have any other motive or are looking for accolades from others. God rejects what you are doing as hypocrisy. We are to live for him and serve him alone.
