Northern Kentucky Forum hosting affordable housing panel Thursday night
The event is at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Lincoln Grant Scholar House (824 Greenup St., Covington). In December 2015, the Northern Kentucky Forum hosted a discussion of homelessness in Northern Kentucky, with panelists providing a snapshot of the problem and some innovative solutions and approaches to addressing it. The clear message that evening was that our region lacks sufficient affordable housing to assure of safe and secure roof over the heads of individuals and families. The Forum is revisiting this topic, this time with an emphasis on affordable housing. What is the need? How well, and how, are we meeting that need -- or failing to meet it? This Forum will be a sort of SWOT Analysis of affordable housing in Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties. What are our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats?
