Halo has finally crash-landed for its second season on Paramount Plus, and this time with plenty of fanfare talking about how Halo Season 2 is far better than Season 1. So is it true? Well...no. Not at all. At least not yet. The season could be better if it continues to steer closer to the original Halo canon story and focus in on Master Chief, but for now it's still revisiting all of the old mistakes of season 1 and spending a painful amount of time on uninteresting background characters. Episodes 1 & 2 make it clear that the show still has a long way to go to live up to the expectations set by the beloved video game franchise.

Will Master Chief's surgery help him be a bit lighter on his feet? Will Beefy Wonder be able to help Rizz? Will Soren be able to make a name for himself outside of just being that guy who looks like Dave Chappelle?
