Philipp Bouhler: Unmasking the Tragic Architect of the Nazi Euthanasia Program

Philipp Bouhler (September 11, 1899 – May 19, 1945) was a prominent figure within the Nazi Party in Germany, holding the positions of Reichsleiter (National Leader) and Chief of the Führer's Chancellery of the NSDAP. Additionally, he served as the SS official overseeing the Aktion T4 euthanasia program, which resulted in the deaths of over 250,000 disabled adults and children in Nazi Germany. He was also involved in initiating Aktion 14f13, known as "Sonderbehandlung" or "special treatment," which led to the killing of approximately 15,000–20,000 concentration camp prisoners.

Following his arrest by American troops on May 10, 1945, Bouhler took his own life on May 19, 1945, while detained in the U.S. internment camp at Zell am See in Austria.
