Trickle Down Podcasting

In this episode, in addition to our first monkey bars session of the year, we talk about one of my favorite subjects; Podcasters. Come to think of it, "media" has long been a fascination of mine, guess you can get a hint from this series.
What podcasts represent, especially the non-celebtity driven ones, is a kind of organic media. There's no FCC per se, or association of broadcasting professionals holding up standards. Instead it's market driven, it has to deal with cancel culture and there's lots of sharing going around.
Imagine if, back in the day you picked up a newspaper and cut out a particular article or two, pasted it on some construction paper, made copies and distributed it to your friends, or whoever.
That's kind of what's happening in many podcasts, including sometimes, this one. (But rarely.) Because of fair use.
This isn't anything against fair use, or podcasters. Just what I'm noticing.
The podcasting phenomenon is still relatively new and those that don't really have much to say will be shaken off the tree in due course.
It's kinda like when hip hop emerged. There was genius and creativity and there were biters and hacks.
