Lana Turner was born 103 years ago on Feb. 8, 1921. She achieved fame as both a pin-up model and a film actress. There was an old cliche of an actor being discovered out of nowhere. This actually happened to Lana Turner. At the age of 15, a talent scout spotted her at a malt shop. The rest is history.
Lana Turner was mainly a film star, but she made many appearances on the radio. She was on Lux Radio Theater, Jan. 19, 1942, in the radio version The Devil And Miss Jones. This was a hit movie in 1941. Turner and Lionel Barrymore were the stars of this broadcast, but neither appeared in the film. Relax and enjoy the show.
