Date Muffins

2 tbs butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, well-beaten
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup dates, finely cut

Two tablespoons of butter creamed with 1/4 cup of sugar, 2 well beaten eggs, 1 cup of milk, 2 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder. Beat thoroughly together; add 1 cup of finely cut dates. Bake in quick oven 20 minutes. Makes 1 dozen muffins.
