Paul Murphy - 'Embers' and 'Of'

Came back to 'Embers' after a couple of days away since writing it. This is the last of 4 takes laid down this evening, none of which went the way I wanted them to, but this song does seem to have a lot of fans so I thought I would post these latest versions. This closing version led into a spontaneous version of 'Of', in a somewhat unique arrangement, being mid-vocal'ed compared to how it is usually sung. There is also a brief clip of the music to an unwritten song, 'There's No Hope Left... Now' , which I think I will keep to myself.

This is one of those songs where I wish I still had a band. Nice hard riff, descending melody line, and a barbed-wire lyric - it's a song made for bass and drum backing.
