Cells are the fundamental unit of life, and their disposal before reaching maturity may seem contradictory to the definition of life. Cells are membrane-bound structures that contain necessary molecules for organism survival and functioning. However, cell integrity is vital for proper functioning and survival. Cells play a crucial role in every stage of life, from embryonic development to full-grown organisms. Disposing of old or damaged cells without proof is contrary to the definition of life. Cells undergo apoptosis during embryonic development, where certain cells die to shape and mold the growing embryo. Therefore, the question is whether we should be concerned about the developing infant, which is the very definition of life.
