The Rocky Patel Aged, Limited, Rare line is a stellar work of achievement by RP. In this episode, we dive into the two editions, cocktail pairings with each, and a little bit of history. Let me know if you’ve had one yet and how you feel about these limited, rare, aged cigars.

The Sazerac Cocktail
1 Sugar Cube
4-5 Dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
3 oz Rye Whiskey (or Bourbon)
¼ oz Absinthe

Cover sugar cube in Peychaud’s bitters in a mixing glass. Mascerate until fully dissolved. Add Whiskey and stir with ice for 30 seconds. Coat chilled rocks or old fashioned glass in Absinthe. Strain contents of mixing glass into the chilled, Absinthe-coated glass. Express lemon oil from a peel onto cocktail. Serve and enjoy.

Whiskey Sour
¾ oz Egg White
½ oz Simple Syrup
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
2 oz Whiskey

Combine all ingredients in shaker tin. Dry shake without ice for 10 seconds to incorporate ingredients and fluff egg white. Add ice and shake again for 10-15 seconds. Double-strain into a chilled coupe, martini, or Nick and Nora glass. Express lemon oil and top with three drops of aromatic bitters. Serve and drink…slowly.

Simple Syrup Recipe
2 cups water
2 cups white sugar
Combine in small sauce pan. Bring to boil over medium-high heat. Simmer over low heat until reduced by 1/3. Chill and use.
