Remove the Pebble From Your Shoe

Greetings! This is Ray Hightower, speaking to you from the great state of Arizona. And I just spent most of today, wrestling with some issues that seemed very small in comparison to what I should be working on.

But then I'm thinking of a metaphor you know, you as entrepreneurs, we have to run a marathon. Walk a marathon. We have to go long distances, with discipline, taking one step after the other over and over again. Over a long distance.

And it's very difficult to go that distance with a pebble in your shoe. And it's very difficult for the people on our team, or teams to go the distance if they have a pebble in their shoe. And sometimes as entrepreneurs, we spend our time removing a pebble from someone else's shoe. So that they can go the distance.

And a pebble it's so tiny but you ever tried, you know, I'm a boy scout leader. You know we do 20 mile hikes. And you know I can hike 20 miles or I can run marathons all of that. But try walking one block with a pebble in your shoe and that is excruciating.

So you got to remove the pebble from the shoe. And sometimes when we're moving that removing the pebble from the shoe, it takes a long time but in the end, it turns out to be a really good use of time. This is Ray Hightower. Be well!
