There are lots of reasons why people like to be near honey bees.
They definitely have a calming impact, and just the sounds inside a hive can put you to sleep, provide a distraction from the hustle of every day life.
This video's audio track was recorded inside the hive -
You can hear honey bees venting, beeping each other, chewing, making beeswax comb, and the occasional bzzt of a worker wanting the recording device out of the way.
I also provided a view of a frame of open larvae with nurse bees attending to them. This may also provide a distraction for those who don't have honey bees.

There are Bee-Beds where people can get inside a hive and not only hear the bees and feel their resonance, but you can also smell the pollen, nectar, and honey being dried.
