Sukaregang is the Garut Leather Craft Center. The history of the production of leather jackets and other types of crafts on an industrial scale dates back to the 1930s.
Starting in the 70s, the Sukaregang area was only inhabited by a few leather craftsmen. However, because of the quality and affordable prices, people choose the products produced by the craftsmen on Jalan Gagak Lumayang.
