A new trend is starting with AI girlfriends. Online chatbots claim to offer the perfect online relationship, with the ability of users to customize personalities and physical traits of images generated by AI drawing tools. Yet the bots are already raising some serious concerns over the likely harm they’ll cause to society. The bots are looking to service young and lonely men, in particular, and could fuel the flames of a growing problem of falling birth rates, and of young people checking out of the real world.
