Senate GOP will block border deal, leaving Ukraine in limbo

Senate Republicans, facing intense pressure from former President Trump, are set to block a procedural motion this week that would initiate debate on a bipartisan border security deal.

This decision leaves funding for the Ukraine war uncertain for the foreseeable future.

If the border security deal fails to progress this week, it suggests that the legislation is unlikely to pass the Senate without significant modifications.

Any alterations to the negotiated asylum and border security reforms, worked out with the White House and Senate Democrats, could jeopardize the entire agreement, The Hill reported.
