In this video best selling author and historian, Adam Alexander Haviaras, demonstrates how the ‘Pythagoras Cup’ works.

It’s said that the ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician, Pythagoras, invented this cup to teach his students a lesson at break time.

If a student filled his cup below the line, he enjoyed a nice cup of wine or water. But, if a student was greedy and filled the cup over the line, taking more than his colleagues, all of the contents would drain out. Students who exercised restraint enjoyed their water or wine, and students who were greedy got nothing at all!
