In 2019, Mastercard—in partnership with the UN—launched a credit card that monitors its holders carbon footprint and cuts off spending when they've reached their allocated carbon allowance.

The card was discontinued in 2022, but you can be absolutely certain that the exact same functionality will be programmed into CBDCs if they're ever allowed to get off the ground.
