History of India and Pakistan

The history of Pakistan and India is deeply intertwined, dating back thousands of years. Both countries were part of the British Indian Empire until 1947 when India gained independence, and Pakistan was created as a separate Muslim-majority state. The partition led to massive violence and displacement, resulting in communal tensions that persist to this day. The two countries have since been engaged in several conflicts, notably over the region of Kashmir. Despite periodic attempts at peace and cooperation, relations between Pakistan and India remain complex due to historical, cultural, and political factors.
