Fed Chair Jerome Powell on China Evergrande and China's Economy

02/04/2024 The chairman of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell: Obviously, China's economy is facing some challenges. Growth has slowed, it has moved away from a market-led economic growth model and is still overly dependent on areas such as real estate investment. As long as what happens in China doesn't lead to significant disruptions in the economy or financial system, then we may feel the implications for the United States a bit, but shouldn't be that large.
